Description
CAPEX EXPECTORANT is a combination of Bromhexine, Guaiphenesin and Terbutaline which belongs to the group of medicines called Mucolytics, Expectorant and Beta-agonist respectively. It is used in the treatment of productive cough when associated with bronchospasm in conditions such as bronchitis, bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiectasis, and emphysema.
Bronchitis is an inflammation in the airway of the lungs which carry air to and from lungs. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a lung disease causing obstruction in the airway. Bronchiectasis is a condition where the airways of lungs become wide allowing the accumulation of mucus deposition making it prone to infections. Emphysema is a lung disease causing shortness of breath. CAPEX EXPECTORANT should be used with caution in patients with high blood pressure, heart diseases such as arrhythmias, coronary insufficiency, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, low levels of serum potassium, peptic ulcer and patients with high levels of thyroid and seizures.
