Description
Clove bud oil is derived from the clove tree, a member of the Myrtaceae family. The predominant chemical constituents found in all three types of clove oils are eugenol, eugenyl acetate, and caryophyllene.
Clove oil is very effective against dental pain, sore gums, mouth ulcers, cavities, and bad breath. Clove essential oil had the same numbing effect as benzocaine, a topical agent commonly used before needle insertion. For this reason, you can use clove oil for teething with infants by mixing it with coconut oil and rubbing it on the gums.
Clove oil has ability to slow tooth decalcification (“dental erosion”) and helps in remineralization of teeth.
Use under medical supervision.
